Malin Head, Ireland – 11-18 June 2016

Pat Spencer is running a trip to Malin Head, Ireland  June 11-18th  2016. The plan is for 6 days diving and 7 nights’ accommodation.  Mixture of wrecks, reefs, walls, drop offs and caves. Viz around 20m

Boat and diving.

We are planning to dive with Mevagh Divers in Donegal on their boat the Laura Dean, which is a hard boat with lift.

They can offer a mix of inshore boat diving, drift diving and some wreck diving on The Julia T, recently named as one of the “100 Essential Wreck Dives”. They also have some great shore diving in their beautiful private sheltered cove which has a wreck the’60 footer’ lying in 13 metres depth, easily accessible from the shore.

 

The cost per day is 650 euros per day for the boat with a plan to do 6 days diving.

Air is approx. £5 , nitrox £9.

Accommodation

We are staying at the Mevagh divers B&B which costs 38euro’s per person per day.

Travel

The Holyhead to Dublin morning  fast ferry then drive to Galway and head north. Cost at present with 2 per car is £251 return.

Budget on an inclusive £600 (ferry, diving, air and accommodation) for the week.   NB boat ,air and accommodation costs are sent to me in Euros. At present 1 euro is equivalent to 75p.

Minimum qualification; Experienced Sports Diver . You need to be happy in swell and be able to deploy a DSMB without faff.
