Menai Boat Launch – 2nd April 2017

_dsc4710Once again to start the new season and to have a day’s fun in our much loved boats we’re running a non diving day on the Menai Straits. The date for this year’s trip is Sunday April 2nd. We hope to travel the length of this beautiful stretch of water which is steeped in history as well as being an interesting area to navigate. If all goes well it should be the first official outing for our new engine on Cheshire Cat.

Simple instruction in navigation will be given to those who are interested. We will have the obligatory stop for a fish and chip lunch in Beaumaris and of course ice creams by Caernarfon Castle to end the day. This castle is both stunning and historically very significant and to approach it from the sea is an experience not to be missed.

_dsc4741This is open to everyone and with the two Club boats and offers of more there should be plenty of room.

I would particularly like to see our newer members on this as it will give you a great opportunity to meet fellow members and our friends from other Clubs; remember that last year there were over 14 boats from many other Clubs. See attached pictures to remind you.

If you think this is for you please put your name and contact number on the list in the Club House which will be available from this Thursday or contact me directly; further information will be given in due course.

This time we are asking everyone to please donate £5 to the RNLI which we will try and collect in advance and present to our friends at the Lifeboat Station on the day.

Do have a look at the 2016 trip

Hope you can come.
