Benefits of Joining East Cheshire Sub-Aqua Club

Joining Macclesfields oldest, most established diving organisation, which is part of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) provides numerous benefits which are:

As a member of E.C.S.A.C. you will have collective ownership of our purpose built Clubhouse, two club boats, compressor and training equipment. The clubhouse was designed and built in 1991 by club members themselves and therefore contains every facility that an active diver could wish for. The club combines the excitement and adventure of diving with lively and varied social activities: Beach BBQs, Live Bands, Cabaret Nights, Discos, Quiz Nights, Treasures Hunts, Bonfire Parties, Race Nights, Theme Nights, New Years Eve are all in addition to regular Thursday Evening club nights.

The large boat house on the ground floor holds a 5.5m Humber RIB, a 5.5m Delta Rib as well as a minibus. The minibus is used to tow one of the boats and carry up to eight people on dive trips. It is also used on club and social events. Incorporated within the boat house is the compressor facility, with an extensive air bank and nitrox facilities. The inclusive membership fee entitles you to fill your diving cylinders free of charge.

To join ECSAC you must be over 14 years of age, physically fit, and able to swim.

The cost for a new diver to join ECSAC and for all training is £239 which comprises a BSAC fee of £47, annual ECSAC fee of £107, BSAC training pack £30, initial joining fee £25 and pool training fee £30. After the first year this reduces to £154 which is the BSAC fee and annual ECSAC fee. The ECSAC fee covers the upkeep of our clubhouse, boats, minibus and compressor. The costs for divers already qualified varies, so please get in touch with us for more details. All new members need to complete a BSAC membership form, ECSAC membership form and medical form.

We hope you'd like to find out more by either contacting us, or coming to see us at the club on a Thursday night at 9:30.
