As a BSAC branch we offer a structured training program with qualifications that are recognised globally, enabling you to dive in places such as Australia or the Red Sea. The BSAC diving qualifications are Ocean Diver, Sports Diver, Dive Leader, Advanced Diver and First Class Diver.
Being a large club, we are fortunate in have a number of BSAC instructors and we provide training all year round. Initial pool training takes place every Thursday evening over a period of about 8 weeks, at Macclesfield Leisure Centre from 19.30pm to 21.00pm. Ocean, Sports and Dive Leader diving lectures are organised to coincide with the training process.
The initial qualification of Ocean Diver has three components which are pool exercises, dive theory and open water training. We lend trainee's a set of modern training equipment (BCD, regulator, cylinder, mask and fins) to enable them to complete their pool training and initial open water dives.
As a new diver with ECSAC you will receive comprehensive, all inclusive training up to the level of Dive Leader and beyond. The only additional costs above the membership fee's are the training materials (about £20) for each qualification.
ECSAC member instructors also offer additional courses such as boat handling, radio operator, oxygen administration and compressor operator.
BSAC standards are the highest in the world, with emphasis on safe diving practicies and rescue skills.
