{"id":4399,"date":"2018-01-07T14:41:04","date_gmt":"2018-01-07T14:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ecsac.org.uk\/?page_id=4399"},"modified":"2020-03-14T21:19:12","modified_gmt":"2020-03-14T21:19:12","slug":"whats-in-the-club-the-beer-bottle","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ecsac.org.uk\/?page_id=4399","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s in the Club &#8211; The Beer Bottle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There will be a series of articles covering some of the artefacts found around the club, this one tells you about the Beer Bottle..<\/p>\n<p>It may have seemed a rather random thing to have this beer bottle hanging around, but there is a story and some history attached to it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecsac.org.uk\/updates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_7681-e1515335089134.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4400 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ecsac.org.uk\/updates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_7681-e1515335089134-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ecsac.org.uk\/updates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_7681-e1515335089134-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.ecsac.org.uk\/updates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_7681-e1515335089134-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>You will find the bottle now had pride of place in the club in the display cabinet\/book case by the door.<\/p>\n<p>This particular beer bottle was the last one left in the bar in the old clubhouse (the one that preceded the current purpose built clubhouse.<\/p>\n<p>The explanation on the paper behind it reads&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The last night in our much loved old Club House was October 21st 1989 and it was a place that meant so much to so many that we decided to celebrate this sentimental occasion with a &#8220;drink the bar dry&#8221; event.<\/p>\n<p>The last men\/women standing in the early hours of that infamous miht were Mary and Keith Rushton, Martin and Paula Fisher, Dave Hanson, Dave Griffiths, Fred Wardle and Paul Tyers.<\/p>\n<p>The bottle was the last remaining item of stock.&nbsp;&nbsp; The following week the old clubhouse was demolished.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So if the bar is getting low on beer at a club night, best not crack open this bottle..&nbsp; One, it may not be at its best, second you&#8217;d be drinking some of the club&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There will be a series of articles covering some of the artefacts found around the club, this one tells you about the Beer Bottle..
