We arrived in Mallaig to flat calm seas and sun shine. This was the weather pattern for the whole week.<\/p>\n
Doune Stone Lodge was everything we could have wished for: comfortable, spacious, great showers, drying area and a view across to the Cuillin ridge on Skye. We had otters, playing in the bay and a stag that grazed the lawn (see below). The food was exceptional, with a cooked breakfast, packed lunch and a 4 course meal every evening.\u00a0 The nearest village was a mere 4 mile hike away.<\/p>\n
We dived on Eigg, Muck, Canna and Skye. The main feature was big walls and pinnacles covered in a variety of anemones, sea squirts, soft corals, hydroids and bryzoa. A no take policy ensured that the edible crabs, lobsters and scallops were there for the next group of divers to see. We finished the week with a tour of the Port Napier in the Kyle of Loch Alse. The bonus was watching porpoise, dolphins and a Minke whale as we made our way out to the dive sites.<\/p>\n
