Moroccan Evening - Saturday 23rd July 2022

ECSAC hosted a Moroccan evening on Saturday 23rd July, inspired by Sahara trek that Loz & Alison will undertake in November,  to support the work of the East Cheshire Hospice.

The clubhouse was transformed with desert scenes of camels, sand dunes and Arabic influences, thanks to the brilliant artwork of Clive and the needlework skills of Janice. Delicious lamb and veggie tagines were prepared by Roger and additional Moroccan side dishes by Janice . A selection of Moroccan cakes was made by Alison.  Due to Covid problems, the booked band “Snakeskin” were unable to attend but a trio from “Big Jam” were gathered together at very short notice and did a great job entertaining us on the night! Many thanks to Tim Lane.

A charity raffle was held with top prizes kindly donated as follows: Tiger painting – Clive Byrne; Clogeau bracelet – Jones Jewellers; Voucher – Arighi Bianchi; Peli Case – Phil Frost, Peli Products,  Chris Holdham’s books – Jane Knott; Action camera – Jon Parton, plus lots more!

The evening was a huge success and raised over £600 for the East Cheshire Hospice.  Thanks to everyone for their generosity and support.
