DIVE TRIP – Weymouth – October 11-13th 2019

Weymouth Trip October 11-13th 2019

Suitable for Sports divers and above.  The original Weymouth trip in April was called off due to bad weather, the accommodation and boat charter allowed us to re book without any loss of deposit at a later date which we have now set for the weekend of 11th October.

Due to other commitments we now have 2 maybe 3 spaces to fill. The trip is aimed at wreck diving  to 35m therefore it is for sports diver with 20 logged dives or above.

The aim is to dive the awesome M2 submarine which was the first and probably last submarine aircraft carrier. I will be at the clubhouse tonight and will be putting up the sign up form as per normal first come first served basis.

Staying at the Bunk house for 2 nights with 2 days diving aboard the Skindeep diving boat. (www.thebunkerportland.com) ( http://www.skindeepdiving.co.uk  )

This is a hard boat trip with dive lift. The aim of the trip is to visit the M2 submarine and another wreck to be decided the following day (possibly Aolian Sky or  Pomerainian, Binnenijiik, Landrail, Alex Van Opstal  Sidon all with a max depth of 35m. There will be two trips per day first will be a wreck to 35m and second dive will be shallower but it will either be a wreck, reef or drift dive.

More on the wrecks can be found on Skindeep’s webpage.

Costs as per 2018 prices are £27 per night for the accommodation including breakfast. To charter the full boat which takes 12 divers for the day costs £590. This brings the trip cost based on 12 divers to roughly £155 this does not include gas refills.

A deposit of £80 is needed for the trip as the bunkhouse require payment in full! Final balance to be settled no later than 8 weeks before the trip!

We like to encourage car sharing as it not only shares the costs but it helps also to take the loneliness of driving down on your own. Before the trip we will try to ensure we can car share as much as possible

As there are many choices of where to eat we can decide between the divers where to eat and drink whilst we are down there.
