Oman – 4-10 Sept 2016

DCIM100GOPROPat Spencer and Phil Darlington joined our man in Oman, Mark Parsey, for a weeks diving and over eating in the 4 star Millennium Hotel.

The Qatar flights go via Doha from Manchester and the hotel courtesy transfer went smoothly. The next morning we joined the boat to dive on the Daymaniyat Islands which are just over an hours boat ride from the hotel marina giving enough time for a snooze, soaking some rays on the upper sun deck or watching the dolphins and other wildlife pass.

DCIM100GOPROThe dive sites were packed with life even the nudibranchs were over 3 inches long. The 27 degree water made for easy diving although the occasional 24 Deg thermocline almost felt chilly. The abundance of fish in the hard and soft coral gardens were too many to list but the major sightings were Leopard, Honeycomb and Zebra Morays, Stingrays, Cowtail Rays, Electric Rays, Cuttle Fish and most importantly the elusive and impressive whale shark with a mother with juvenile putting the icing on a spectacular week.

Mark works in Oman so when he’s not at the work camp he’s always looking for diving buddies. If anyone fancies a 4 star week of sun drenched diving in a luxury hotel at very reasonable rates speak to Mark, Pat or Phil.
